Sustainable Coffee Farming Practices
 

We believe in sustainable coffee farming practices and work with our partners in farms that prioritize: 

​

• Better crop-management and water use practices where farmers do crop rotation, plant crops that return nutrients to the soil, plant other crops among the coffee plants. 

• Using natural means to ward away insects in lieu of pesticides such as using specifically designed deterrents so that harmful chemicals aren't required.

• Composting all the coffee bean waste byproducts and other parts of the plant to be used as fertilizer for the rest of the crops so that nutrients aren't wasted.

• Reuse waste water from the processing of the beans for watering the coffee plant. 

• Using coffee hulls as fuel to roast the beans instead of relying on firewood or having to buy fuel to transport it to the farm. ​

 

Our coffee beans must be:

a) Rainforest Alliance Certified

b) Fairtrade Certified
